Srimad Bhagavad Gita Chapter 13, Verse 31

English Meaning:

O Kaunteya, the Supreme Self is eternal, beginningless and untouched by the qualities of material nature. Therefore, it remains imperishable. Although the Supreme Presence dwells within the body, it does not become bound by the activities performed through the body. The body may experience change, action and limitation, but the Supreme Self remains beyond these temporary conditions.

English Meaning:

When a person begins to see beyond the apparent differences among countless living beings and recognizes that all of them rest upon one Supreme Reality, he also understands that the vast diversity of creation has its origin in that same eternal source. With such spiritual insight, his understanding rises beyond external distinctions and moves toward the realization of Brahman.

English Explanation:

The world appears to be filled with countless separate beings, each having a different body, nature and life experience. Yet the deeper spiritual vision described by Krishna looks beyond these outward differences and recognizes a common divine foundation. Understanding this unity does not mean ignoring the diversity of creation; rather, it means seeing the One Reality that supports and pervades that diversity.
